It was constantly dusty, no running water, periodic
power outages and it was impossible to keep anything clean… Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing!
If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience with Women In Progress, an organization supporting women-owned micro-enterprises in Ghana, West Africa.
If ever given the opportunity to go and volunteer with an organization that gives the people the tools needed to raise up the entire community, do it, Do It! DO IT!
I wouldn’t change a thing about the month I spent in Ghana. Even though I was nervous as who knows what during the flight over and was still questioning my sanity on my way to my host family’s home, words cannot explain how grateful I am for the lessons and adventures!
Offering suggestions to improving production, bonding with the Ghanaian women and adventures touring Ghana, the experience was INCREDIBLE!
Visit Women In Progress’s e-commerce site: Global Mamas to see the clothing, textiles and jewelry for purchase designed and produced by the women of Ghana.
